EMPIRE MICA trips meet between 8:00-8:30am and return most of the time to the dock between 5:00-5:30pm. We meet in Port St. Joe and load the boat, then everyone follows us ot Indian Pass where we put the boat in the water and leave. Depending on the sea conditions run time is about an hour to an hour and a half. We anchor and tie in on the deck at 75ft. The max depth on this dive is about 117 ft however most divers only find about 110ft. You will be allowed to make three dives with a one hour fifteen minute surface interval between dives. If you are using nitrox no mix above 32% will be allowed in the water. If weather permits we usually catch, clean and cook fish for a fish sandwich between dives. You must have a computer to make three dives! Soda's, water, and ice are also provided at no charge.
SPEARFISHING trips will meet at different times and places depending the port we are leaving from. A cooler and ice are provided along with a licence to cover you for taking fish, lobster, ect. PLEASE BRING YOUR COOLER to take your fish home in. Most dives will be between 80ft and 100 ft. You must have a computer to do three dives! This is an all day trip. Spearfishing help and advice are there for the asking.
EXXON TEMPLATE trips meet at 9:00 am and return around 5:00-5:30pm. We meet at the Chevron station in Apalachicola and load the boat, then everyone follows us to the boat ramp where we launch and leave. Depending on the sea conditions run time is about one and a half to two hours. We anchor and tie in to the top of the rig at 65ft. The bottom is about 110ft. After two dives there we head in to a smaller spot in about 80 ft for dive number three. Spear fishing is allowed and there are lots of big things to see and photograph.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS trips are great for a family or friends outing that features something for the diver as well as the non divers in your group. For divers there are two dives in shallow water with supervision. For the non divers there is the opportunity to be dropped off on a secluded beach for sun and fun while the divers go diving, or you may choose to watch them from above while snorkeling while they dive. This is a custom trip and start and finishing times depend on what you want. This trip may be a four hour trip or all day depending on your needs.
Boat Information
The boat is a custom rigged Parker 27. This boat is very stable and easy to get in and out of. It is set up to accommodate 6 divers and 2 crew. It has a range of over one hundred miles and cruises at 20-30kt. It boasts a top that provides adequate shade without interfering with divers or fisherman. In addition to state of the art electronics we also have 32 mile radar, satellite phone, twin engines and backup navigation equipment. This boats has everything but a head. The boat is trailered to whatever port we choose to leave from. After 19 years of trips we boast a perfect safety record, however we do carry two hours of Oxygen on board for added piece of mind. Also on board is a cooler for fish and cooler for drinks along with dry storage for food, clothes ect. (Restroom facilities not available)

We will make every effort to take you where you want to go, however sometimes mother nature just won't cooperate. In this event, if possible alternate sites or port of departure must be chosen. If this is the case, partial refunds may be made on a case by case basis.
If we cancel a trip prior to leaving you will receive a full refund. If we give you a go at your own risk opportunity and you want to try, then there will be no refunds once the boat hits the water. | |
